Sweet and Spicy Nuts

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw pecan halves
  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 1 cup raw hazelnuts or macadamia nuts
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil, optional coconut oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher or sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or cooking spray.
  2. Mix olive oil, maple syrup, salt, cayenne pepper, salt and chili powder in a bowl until combined and then toss in the nuts to coat evenly.
  3. Spread in an even layer on the baking sheet and cook for 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes or so to move nuts around.
  4. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Enjoy!
