Ingredients
- 1 pouch (8 g/2 ¼ tsp) instant quick rising yeast
- 375 mL (1 ½ cups) warm milk
- 750 mL (3 cups) all-purpose flour
- 125 mL (½ cup) whole wheat flour
- 45 mL (3 tbsp.) olive oil
- 15 mL (1 tbsp.) sugar 5 mL (1 tsp.) salt
- 15 mL (1 tbsp.) butter, melted
- Salt, sesame seeds or dried rosemary for garnish
HOW TO
In a large bowl, pour yeast into warm milk. Stir to dissolve. Add flours, olive oil, sugar and salt. Mix well.
On a lightly floured work surface, knead dough for 5 to 10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough ball in an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm place so that it doubles in volume, about 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Place the loaves on the baking sheet. With a sharp knife, make a small cut in each loaf.
Cover with a cloth and let the dough rise again until doubled in size, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Brush breads with melted butter and sprinkle with desired topping. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on a rack.
