HOMEMADE TACO SEASONING

with No Comments

I like to make my taco seasoning in bulk; it is cheaper than the store bought envelopes and is much healthier. If stored in an air tight container it can last for up to a year in the pantry.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chili powder
  • 1 tbs. salt
  • 1 tbs. pepper
  • 9 tsp. cumin
  • 6 tsp. paprika
  • 5 tsp. garlic powder
  • 5 tsp. onion powder
  • 2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional or can be adjusted for heat)

Directions:

Mix all seasonings, and store in air tight container.

Use 3 tbs. for every pound to a pound and a half of hamburger meat.

To Use

Brown the hamburger meat until it is cooked all the way through. Add 3 tbs. of taco seasoning, and ⅔ cup of water; simmer on low for 5-10 minutes. Serve.
