BAKED CHICKEN FRIES

with No Comments

This week you get a two for one Football Snacks post. Yesterday I brought you Cheez-its and today you get Chicken Fries for Monday Night Football! Aka because the Eagles play MNF.

But really this recipe is all for Em because I know she loves her some chicken fries. When my dad used to take us to BK Lounge all the time, Em and I would always get the exact same meal. Medium fries and chicken fries. EVERY TIME. There’s something magical about those chicken strips in the shape of fries. It makes them taste better. I’m convinced. Then we stopped going to BK Lounge and somewhere around that same time chicken fries disappeared from the menu. I’m convinced these events are related. (There’s no way they’re related..)

I’m pretty sure these have found their way back onto menus as some locations but we all know that making your own will not only result in better chicken fries but you get these magical “fries” without all the grease and fake chicken.

I made the sauce by mixing my new favorite buffalo sauce Sweet Baby Ray’s buffalo sauce with a little plain greek yogurt to cut the heat and the combo was perfect.

HOW TO MAKE THIS AMAZING EASY BAKED CHICKEN FRIES ??

Ingredients:

  • Chicken breast
  • Flour
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Egg
  • tbs Water
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Paprika
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Cooking spray
  • Dipping sauce (Buffalo and greek yogurt were my choice)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees

Pound chicken breasts if necessary to get to about ½ inch thickness. Slice chicken into thin strips.

Add flour and seasonings into a ziplock bag. Add chicken to bag and shake to coat chicken.

Whisk egg and water into one bowl and add bread crumbs to a separate bowl.

Dip chicken strips into egg then into bread crumbs making sure to coat completely with bread crumbs.

Place strips onto a baking sheet. Repeat with all strips. Spray with cooking spray.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, turning halfway through.

Mix buffalo sauce and greek yogurt (2 parts buff sauce, 1 part greek yogurt) together.

Serve immediately with dipping sauce of your choice.
