Apple Cinnamon Chimichangas – Pioneer COOKERY

Apple Cinnamon Chimichangas

with No Comments

This Mexican dessert recipe should be added to your menu whether it’s Cinco de Mayo or a typical taco night !!

Ingredients

  • Apple pie filling: 1 (21 ounce) can
  • Cinnamon sugar: 1/2 cup
  • Flour tortillas: 15 (6 inch)
  • Oil for frying

Directions :

STEP 1 :
In a small pot set over medium-low heat, heat apple pie filling for 5 minutes, or until warmed through.

STEP 2 :
Then you’re going to get a shallow dish and place in cinnamon sugar.

STEP 3 :
You can then spoon 1 1/2 tablespoons of filling onto each tortilla and always remember to fold in opposing edges and roll up as you would a burrito.

STEP 4 :
Next, go ahead and heat oil in a large, deep saucepan over medium heat.

STEP 5 :
At this stage, make sure a batch of rolled tortillas is placed seam-side down in the hot oil. After that, fry for 60 to 120 seconds, or until browned and crispy. Once browned and crispy, go ahead and turn and continue frying for another 60 to 120 seconds, or until all sides are browned. And that’s it, you can now roll in cinnamon sugar to coat. And please repeat with remaining batches.

Enjoy !
