Slow Cooker Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate – Pinterest MUST!

Ready for a little indulgence?  ‘Tis the season to focus on holiday treats!  First on my list is some succulent, rich, Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate.  Yes…this is pretty heavenly.  And it’s easily thrown together in a crock pot!  I made mine semi-sweet chocolate chips (you can alternatively use milk chocolate) and it was amazing.  It’s important to balance it with the whipped cream, so don’t leave that out.  And if you’d like a special garnish, add a touch of caramel sauce on top, too.  Serve this in small mugs (remember, it’s rich) for your upcoming holiday party and your guests will be smiling from ear to ear!!

Recipe:

2 c. semi sweet or milk chocolate chips (or a combination of both!)
1/4 c. caramels, unwrapped
4 c. milk
2 c. heavy cream
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. fine sea salt (or leave this out if you’re not into the salted thing)
Optional: whipped cream and caramel sauce : )

Instructions:

Throw your chocolate chips, caramels, whipping cream, milk, and vanilla into a slow cooker and leave only for 2 hours (isn’t this the greatest?).  Stir and cook longer if chocolates and caramel are not melted.  When ready to serve, stir in the caramel and then label into mugs.  Top with whipped cream and caramel sauce if you like!
