These burgers are simple and delicate. My friend’s aunt Kathy made this one when I first met him. I recently ordered the recipe and added my own twist (different spices and sauce.
Its version is made with mayonnaise, but you can substitute the sauce with BBQ sauce or whatever you like. I hope you enjoy these as much as my family.
Ingredients :
° 8 hamburger buns with wheat or sesame
° 2 pounds of ground sirloin or lean beef
° 1 1/2 tablespoons Montreal steak seasoning mix
° 1 large yellow onion
Sauce
° 1/2 cup mayonnaise
° 1 tbsp of ketchup
° 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
° 4 slices pickled dill, finely chopped
° 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
° 1/4 teaspoon paprika
° 1-2 pepper cayenne (optional)
° American and Swiss cheese slices
Optional burger toppings
° 1/3 pcs bacon pkg
° 1 tablespoon minced garlic
° 2-3 slices pickled jalapeno
Directions :
- Combine the ground sirloin and Montreal steak seasoning in a large bowl, folding slightly. Don’t overcook the meat. ** Optional Extras 1 large garlic clove, minced 3T diced bacon
- Fry the burgers on the stovetop or grill until lightly pink in the middle and not fully cooked. They will continue to cook in the oven.
- Add the sauce to the top and bottom of the burger bun. Add a slice of American cheese on one side of the bun and a slice of Swiss cheese on the other side. Place the cooked sirloin burger on the bun and top with a slice of onion and jalapeno (optional).
- Covering every burger with foil & baking in oven at 350 degrees about 13-16 min . Just to melt the cheese and cook the onions a little. Serve with cold potato salad, pasta and veggie salad, or potato chips.
